**What to Do If You Find Downed Power Lines**

Stay at least 20 feet away from downed power lines, and keep children and pets indoors. Assume all downed power lines are energized and dangerous.

Report downed lines to DTE Energy at 800-477-4747 or Consumers Energy at 800-477-5050. If the downed power line poses an immediate threat to the public, call 911.

Remember, energized wires can whip around, spark, or arc as they search for a ground. Even if a wire has found its ground and appears still or silent, it remains dangerous.
